2007 marks the inaugural year of the RedHawk harriers.

Coach Tom Taylor was hired in on August 20th, 2007 with the goal of building a national caliber men's and women's cross country and track and field program. Northwest Indiana has long been known for its outstanding high school cross country and track and field tradition and now will have a collegiate program to call its own. This fall for the inaugural season, the team will compete in the NIRCA collegiate club team championships as well as compete collegiately at the Benedictine Eagle Invitational hosted by Benedictine University. The future will see the RedHawk athletes compete in collegiate events and in NAIA championship events.

The men's and women's teams will travel to Lisle, IL on October 5th to open up with the Benedictine Eagle Invite. The meet is held at Lisle Community Park.

     Victor Del Toro, a 3 time Indiana state qualifier from East Chicago Central High School, and Christina Blackwell, a 2005 Indiana All-State Cross Country team member from Portage High School lead the squad this fall and are joined by several other former high school standouts.
